About the Author Jo Kline Cebuhar

Attorney Jo Kline Cebuhar is a graduate of Iowa State University and Drake University Law School. Jo was motivated to write this book about advance directives and how best to document wishes for care after her personal experience with the life-threatening illness and death of family members. Those crisis situations made Jo realize how pointless end-of-life planning can be if the proper documentation is not coupled with effective communication and delegation. This led her to write the book Last things first, just in case....

Here are some of Jo Kline Cebuhar's accomplishments:

  • Licensed attorney for over 20 years
  • Director of Iowa's first and largest nonprofit hospice 2001-2005
  • Chairman of the hospice Board 2003-2004
